Joaquin is a pioneer in the design of a comprehensive health plan for top-level athletes that monitors, designs and covers all aspects related to the physical performance of the athlete. It is considered by experts and specialized magazines among the top three physiotherapists in the world. Joaquin is a founding partner, a key player in the creation and development of XCELL and actively involved in the design and implementation of the strategy of the Company. Pablo Garcia de la Riva is an entrepreneur and executive with experience in the health industry with a strong interest in innovation and development of new products and businesses. It has 22 years of experience in acquisitions and divestitures of companies and financial services, having participated as an advisor in over 60 M&A operations, with particular relevance in the fields of health, energy and real estate. Pablo has a degree in Business Administration and holds an MBA from Boston College. Pablo has led the scientific team in the design of M2R business model, product portfolio development, management and planning of the company. Pablo’s management experience and knowledge of the health sector will be a key for the development and growth of the Company
Georgina Hotter is an eminent health sciences biologist with over 30 years of experience. Gina is an expert in tissue regeneration, cell therapy, renal failure and acute renal failure, ischemia-reperfusion, organ transplantation and preservation, apoptosis and inflammation of various organs such as the intestine, kidney, pancreas and liver. She has been involved in research on cell functions and tissue regeneration, including research on unmodified cells, genetically modified cells and stem cells for more than 20 years, and is one of the most recognized European experts in her field. Gina has a bachelor's degree and a doctorate in biology from the University of Barcelona. In 1987 she joined the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), the largest and most prestigious public body of scientific research in Spain, where she was promoted to tenured Principal Scientist at the CSIC. Gina's extensive biomedical experience includes leading two European consortia in renal regeneration (HRI and PROLIGEN), 16 R & D projects funded by public and private entities, collaborating at international Universities and in the research departments in the Sanitary and University City of Bellvitge and Hospital Universitari Clínic in Barcelona, supervising doctoral theses and a notable experience in publishing of scientific articles, with 85 publications in leading scientific journals. As part of her work, Dr. Hotter has three patents for new cells and molecules. Gina has led the team that developed M2R breakthrough therapy. It brings not only unprecedented scientific expertise, but also a deep knowledge of the healthcare industry that is essential to the future success of M2RLAB.
Anna Sola is a biologist from Barcelona with over 20 years of professional experience in life sciences. She is a recognized scientist, excelling in the fields of tissue regeneration, cell therapy, ischemia-reperfusion, organ transplants and preservation, among others. As a researcher of the Spanish public health system, Anna has worked in some of the major research centers of CSIC. Among others the Institute of Biomedical Research of Barcelona (GRT), IDIBAPS and the Institute of Biomedical Research of Bellvitge (IDIBELL). From 2007 to 2015, Anna has worked as a researcher at Ciber Center for Bioengineering, Biotechnology and Nanotechnology in Barcelona, Spanish research center with the main focus of, among other technologies, cellular medicine. Early last year, Anna has returned to IDIBELL. Anna has been a key member of the team that developed M2R therapy. Anna brings extensive knowledge and experience in scientific research projects.
Xavier Ginesta Buch is a chemist with more than 15 years of experience in research and IP management. He holds a doctorate from the University of Barcelona and did a postdoctoral stage at the University of Bristol. He has worked as a researcher developing biologically active compounds and, during 6 years, as a knowledge transfer manager in the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).Xavier brings in-depth expertise in the protection and management of M2RLAB’s Intellectual Property Rights and Assets.
